I am an acoustical engineer specialised in computational acoustics, audio signal processing, and acoustical measurements in field and in laboratory.

I am doing research on the production of the human voice, on the design and experimental testing of parametric acoustic arrays (loudspeakers made of ultrasound transducers), in architectural acoustics and environmental acoustics. Also interested in the acoustic black hole effect applied to ducts and plates. Teaching calculus and experimental acoustics courses.

Research

I am currently a lecturer and a researcher in acoustics in the Human-Environment Research (HER) group of La Salle Campus Barcelona – Universitat Ramon Llull. I am in charge of the Acoustics Lab of the same university, a singular facility that contains an anechoic chamber, a reverberation chamber, and a recording studio.

Research

My main research interests include the numerical simulation of the human voice with a particular interest in the vocal tract acoustic modelling using Finite Element Methods and experiments, the design and experimental testing of parametric arrays to generate audible sound from ultrasonic modulated beams, architectural acoustics with a special interest in the acoustics of heritage buildings, and the application of acoustic black holes in ducts and mufflers. I also like to disseminate the importance of noise control by doing soundwalks and, more recently, researching on conscious walks, a new methodology that broadens the scope of soundwalks and incorporates air pollution, biodiversity and urban planning. Also doing some works related to underwater noise pollution.
